Son of a Bun is a family-run business born out of a mutual love of food and more importantly the perfect burger. We opened in 2015 and our vision then remains the same today. To serve the best burgers possible. End of!

We work hard to continue to do this every single day.

In Son of a Bun prime cuts of carefully selected Aberdeen Angus beef with the perfect fat ratio get minced fresh onsite ‘every single day’ to keep our burgers juicy and consistent…. with nothing else added. Simple. Our signature brioche bun is baked fresh and delivered every morning from our local supplier Jack Cuthbert. Bacon is sourced from Crowe’s farm in Tipperary. Local Irish products are the key.

Our famous burger of the month means that we ourselves are constantly creating new delicious flavour combinations and keeping our menu fresh.

Everything in SOB is homemade, from sauces to chicken wings, salads, and desserts, everything is prepped fresh daily.

Excellent service from our amazing staff is the final key ingredient that makes SOB…. that and a great playlist.


We had gone on to win the best burger in Cork at the first-ever burger festival in 2017 and then the best burger in the whole of Ireland when the festival went nationwide in 2018. For the last 3 years, we have won Corks 96FM best burger competition and have had many famous visitors through our doors…not that we like to name-drop.

People now travel far and wide to come to Son of a Bun, which makes us feel very proud.
